Call for papers

8esJournées Internationales de Linguistique de Corpus (JLC2015)

Septembre 2-4 2015, Orléans

The Corpus Linguistics in France Conference (JLC in French) brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines who are interested in the use of computer tools for the study of language in corpora. It allows the participants to present their results, by comparing their tools as well as their experiences. The ultimate goal consists in creating a common ground for differents approaches to digital corpora, which will foster the development of corpus linguistics in France and in the Romance languages.

Previous editions of JCL were traditionally organized in Lorient, by the University of South Brittany, this year, for the first time, the conference will take place in Orléans, in the Centre region on September 2-4 2015. The 8th Corpus Linguistics in France conference (JLC2015) is organised by the LLL research group (Laboratoire Ligérien de Linguistique).

The JLC will be organised jointly with the first Corpus Linguistics Junior Researchers Meeting (Jolico). This meeting is an opportunity to build bridges within the community between the students, the PhD students and researchers. A separate call for Jolico will be coming soon.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to :

  • lexicology and lexicography
  • lexicometrics
  • terminology
  • translation
  • discourse analysis
  • applied linguistics
  • digital humanities
  • natural language processing
  • corpus annotation
  • ...

A special session will be dedicated to the peculiarities of spoken corpora: high variability, disfluences, non canonical syntax, complex annotations. Descriptions of tools specifically dedicated to the analysis of spoken language are also welcome.

Participants interested in presenting a paper should submit 2 pages (not including referencies and figure). Submissions and presentations can be delivered in English or French. JLC2015 will use the EasyChair system to manage submissions.
